This workshop will focus on three themes:
Peace with God: Experiencing His Peace Together
We’ll open up each workshop with a prayerful, contemplative time to experience God’s presence and ask Him for guidance in our longing for peaceful relationships. The goal is to experience the unique peace He offers us.
Peace Inside Me: Wholeness
This first meeting will give a framework for we can experience genuine peace.
How does the Bible define peace? How does psychology talk about experiencing healing and wholeness? What do healthy + whole families look like in real life?
We’ll work to identify how we learn anxiety + avoidance that affects our relationships.
Peace Between Us: Experiencing Prayerful Listening Within the Group
We’ll practice together prayerful listening, using an open share model. Whoever wants to speak that day can share anything that’s on their mind. We’ll listen together, prayerfully, non-judgmentally. Then we offer a word or an idea to each person, without advice giving, and move to the next speaker.
Learning how to share and listen well, with open ears and an open heart, changes how we experience each other. It can feel scary, and it’s ok for a group member to just listen in this process.
These workshops will be an introduction to this listening group, but I want to offer other opportunities to engage in this practice together in other ways.
